Our mission is to serve the Charlotte freight forwarder and customs broker community by providing a central source of information regarding industry laws and regulations and to protect and promote the collective interest of our members. Additionally, we provide industry professionals in the Charlotte area with many networking opportunties through our meetings and other functions.

About Us

History and Membership

Founded in the 1980’s, the International Freight Forwarders and Customs Brokers Association of Charlotte currently has over 45 corporate members and growing. Our membership is made up of customs brokers, freight forwarders, bonded facilities, truckers and other industry related companies.
Activities

We hold a monthly luncheon meeting and generally have speakers who present up-to-date topics that cover our ever changing industry. Some of our presenters featured this year include representatives from the Charlotte CBP office, SC State Port Authority, TSA and our local area representative from the NCBFAA.

Our IFF/CBA Customs Committee meets with CBP on a monthly basis to discuss issues between the trade and CBP as well as any pending issues within our port. The Assistant Port Director and department supervisors also participate in these meetings.

CBP presents quarterly seminars on various topics that have included: textiles, wood flooring, steel, ACE, and Free Trade Agreements.

Our IFF/CBA Terminal Committee also works with the local bonded facilities and terminals to insure proper movement of paperwork and freight with minimal delays.
Highlights of 2010
Last year, our annual Holiday Luncheon hosted 98 industry professionals and resulted in several new IFF/CBA memberships. We also launched a website highlighting changes in the industry while creating a networking opportunitu for those members looking for new employees or postions available.
